Obituary of Neil Ernest "Bud" Braden

Neil "Bud" Ernest Braden 1954 - 2010 Neil "Bud" Braden passed away suddenly on December 1, 2010 at the age of 56. Bud was born in Dawson Creek, British Columbia on May 14, 1954 to parents Vi and Elmer Braden and raised in the Rolla area where he lived and farmed until the late seventies. A career in farming didn't suit Bud and he found a better opportunity working with the Department of Highways, where he stayed until his death. Bud married Sue Lipp in 1988 and although the marriage only lasted 15 years, Bud and Sue remained lifelong friends. Bud was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews and had many hours of fun entertaining them with board and video games. They all looked forward to the skidoo rides in the winter and bike rides in the summer. In his younger years, Bud enjoyed baseball and curling and later took up the challenge of golf. He also looked forward to Happy Hour at Rockwell's Pub to discuss the daily events with his friends. His greatest passion the last few years was travelling around on his Suzuki scooter. He was fondly called "the big guy on the little scooter" by the people in the Dawson area. Bud was predeceased by his parents Vi and Elmer Braden. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Gloria Jean (Lester), and Connie (Doug), his nieces and nephews Ed (Penny), Kathy (Kelly), Ron (Sandy), Jody (Al) and Dean. A celebration of life memorial tea was held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the George Dawson Inn Banquet Room, Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
