Obituary of Darren Miller

Darren Robert Miller was born in Prince George BC on May 31st 1969. He was the son of Kenny Mineault and Virgie Miller. Virgie and Darren moved to Creston BC where she met Bill Miller and not to long after they were married. After a few years, Darren and his family moved to Dawson Creek BC, where Darren spent most of his younger years growing up. In 1981 Virgie met Stretch who Darren grew to love as a Father. Darren's love for his mom was second to none. Darren and his mom always maintained a very close relationship. Anytime Darren needed a little cheering up his mom was there to brighten his day. When Darren was younger, he attended Frank Ross Secondary. This is when he started to hang out with his older cousins in particular Jody and Jay Hall. Every once and a while he would sneak out of the house and go party with the boys. At times, Darren would 'borrow' his moms brand new Buick without her knowing and take it for a joy ride. He would pick up his friends, and sometimes hit a fence, or maybe even a ditch. Darren valued his family and friends like no other, and was well known for being the life of the party. If you knew Darren was going to out for a night on the town you knew you were going to have a good time. Darren's nieces and nephew had a very special place in his heart, and loved them all as if they were his own. Darren was always there for all of them, he never wanted to see them without or hurting. One of Darren's first occupations was in the oil industry, where he pipelined and worked on the rigs. From the time Darren started working he always maintained the reputation as a hard worker. He was never without a job, and was very skilled in many different trades. Due to Darren's hard work he made many accomplishments in his life that he was beyond proud of. Darren was very proud of the fact that he worked hard for a living, he was well known for saying 'it's tough to be a man'. Darren was a man, and one of the best. Darren enjoyed all sorts of sports, such as golf, snow mobiling, and quading. In the spring of '95 he met the love of his life Nicki Pratt. They would say it was love at first sight. Not long after meeting, Nicki and Darren moved in together. The first 4 to 5 years, they resided in Dawson Creek BC. During this time, Darren decided to go back to school for carpentry at Northern Lights College. Carpentry turned out to be one of Darren's greatest passions. After Darren graduated college, he completed an apprenticeship and got his red Seal journeyman Carpenters ticket. Shortly after, Nicki and Darren decided to move to Blind Bay BC. In 2005 on a fishing trip to Babine Lake, which was one of his favourite hobbies, Darren proposed to Nicki in front of a little church by the lake, and of course Nicki said yes. They had planned to get married 10 years after the proposal date. Nicki Pratt was the love of his life. Together the two of them could accomplish anything. 2007 and 2008 were monumental years for Darren, as two of his biggest dreams came true. The first dream came true when Nicki and Darren purchased their first home together. They were always excited to have friends and family over, and show off their beautiful home. The second dream came true when his beautiful little girl Danika came into their life, this made them complete. Of all things in life Darren was good at, he was best at being a Dad, it came naturally to him. When it came to Danika the word "no" did not exist in his vocabulary. He gave his little girl everything within his power including all of his love. Darren was a son, a husband, a brother, and an uncle. Darren is dearly loved by many. Darren will be missed, but never forgotten.
