Obituary of Coreene O’Dwyer

Coreene O'Dwyer 1929 - 2014 Coreene O'Dwyer, lovingly known as Maisey, was born on April 20th, 1929, Coreene was born to David and Velma Neville, in Cardston Alberta. She was the 3rd of the 6 children born to the loving family. She loved her siblings very much, June, LaRee, Connie and Duane, she always spoke of them fondly. When she was 17 years old she met a dashing young man while she was skating. She fell, he helped her up, they became friends. She married that young man, Jim O'Dwyer, in 1948. They had their first daughter Joanne 2 years later. They lived in Calgary for 14 years. During that time 4 children joined the family, Terry, Rick, Lahny and Michael. In 1964 the family made the trek north to Dawson Creek to start a new life. A great surprise came in 1965 when Tracy, the youngest daughter was born. They moved many times in Dawson Creek until they were able to finally get on a farm in 1971 on the Rolla road. Correne then became the "chuck wagon" wife, and the "rodeo mom". There are many memories of rodeoing, the chucks, family times, friends and laughter. In 1976 the family moved to the farm west of Rolla which remained their home until Jim passed away in 2003. Coreene sold the farm and moved to Selwyn place where she was closer to her family and all her activities. Rarely would you find Coreene at home, as she was either at Bingo twice a week, crib tournaments, teaching exercise classes, at the seniors hall, or out for lunch with her kids. She was never "not" working. Her formal jobs included zero news, bills news, jack and jill and the Co-op. She retired from the Co-op but then returned to run the lotto, she worked into her 70's until she retired. Coreene was a beautiful woman on the inside and out. She was always well put together. Her makeup done, her hair perfect, and of course her accessories perfectly matching her outfits. She was a woman of class through and through. Coreene aged beautifully and with grace. Surrounded by 5 of her children, many of their spouses and some of her grandkids, Coreene went to be with her Lord peacefully on March 28, 2014. She is forever remembered as a good friend, a loving mother, a faithful wife, a special sister, a caring grandma, and an overall wonderful person. Coreene will be missed greatly, but her memory will live on in our hearts. Coreene, you taught us many things, and loved us deeply... of this we will be forever grateful. Coreene is survived by her loving children Jo-Ann Havener, Terry (Betty) O'Dwyer, Rick (Lynn) O'Dwyer, Lahny (Murray) Boyce, Michael (Kim) O'Dwyer, and Tracy (Wayne) Isaak, grandchildren Bill Hollingshead, Jodi (Darren) Cecchini, Rick Bergeron, Tyler (Jessica) O'Dwyer, Jason (Caralee) Bergeron, Trevor (Jessica) O'Dwyer, Jenny (Troy) Erickson, Kim O'Dwyer, Leah (Jason) Carberry, Kaylea (Blake) Reid, Tanner and Lance Isaak, great grandchildren Shaelyn, Connor, Brett, Caden, Finnigan, Clea, Tyrell, Chloe, Myra, Sage, Josiah, Joshua, Zoey, Corbin and Reayleigh. Siblings June (Stan) Kettleson, LaRee Bryan and Connie (Art) Giesbrecht, Duane (Doreen) Neville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Coreene was predeceased by her husband Jim O'Dwyer, grandsons Jamie Hollingshead and Clayton Desjarlais O'Dwyer, daughter in-law Laurie O'Dwyer, son in-laws Clarence (Beau) Carberry and Jim Hollingshead.
