Obituary of Robert Dean "Bobby" Beattie

Bobby Beattie, a lifelong resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Tumbler Ridge, B.C. at the age of 51 years. Robert Dean Beattie, known to all as Bobby Beattie was born January 28, 1963 in Dawson Creek, B.C., the fourth child of Stuart and Shirley Beattie. Bobby grew up in an active, busy household on 96th Ave with his 4 siblings Randy, Scott, Brenda and Bonnie. There were lots of kids in the neighbourhood in those days and Bobby made many lifelong friends among them. Bobby had a gentle calmness about him and he had a way of making people feel at ease in his company. As a boy Bobby cared for all of God's creatures, the smallest bug was safe with him and he enjoyed making sure the bird feeder was always full. Bobby was a gentleman and it was his easy smile and gentle nature caught Pam's attention the first time they met in 1984. After their first date in September of that year, they never lived apart and were married six years later on November 10, 1990. Bobby and Pam's love for one another and their friendship was enviable. They demonstrated this daily by being kind to one another and doing sweet things for each other. Bobby's parents instilled in him the qualities of caring, gentleness and the importance of family which he in turn has passed on to his boys Lynden, Kaden, and Brett. Bobby loved his mom, often calling to see how she was doing and if she needed anything. He would drop in for visits, take care of her car, and take her places. Whatever she needed, he was there for her. Bobby was a heavy equipment operator most of his life working at Quintette, in the oil industry, Tembec and Peace River Coal. He had a good work ethic and was a safe, reliable operator who was well liked and respected by those who worked with him. Bobby is survived by his loving wife; Pam, Sons; Lynden, Kaden and Brett, Mother; Shirley Beattie, Brothers; Randy (Eileen) and Scott (Kathy) Beattie, Sisters; Brenda (Barry) Herman and Bonnie (Darcy) Pearson, Mother-in-law; Jean Nelson, Brothers-in-law; Tim (Brenda) Nelson, Dean (Cheryl) Nelson, Chris (Lisa) Nelson, Sister-in-law; Kathy Nelson, Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
