Obituary of Lee Don Hall

Lee Don Hall 1925 - 2014 Lee Don Hall, at 88 years of age, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Dawson Creek, British Columbia on Tuesday, August 6th, 2014 at the Dawson Creek Hospital with family by his side. Lee was born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 17th, 1925. He grew up in Nova Scotia, and at the young age of 17, he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a heavy duty mechanic during his 25 years of service, and in the early years, also drove transport truck, delivering military supplies and goods up and down the Alaska Highway during its construction. Lee was stationed in Petawawa, Dawson Creek, Wainwright, Korea, then back to Dawson, and from there to Winnipeg, Germany, New Brunswick, and while there he also went and served in Cyprus for 6 months. Upon retirement as a Master Corporal from the army, Lee packed up his wife, six children and their dog into a station wagon and drove across Canada to British Columbia to settle in Dawson Creek, which was close to his wife's family. After settling, Lee continued his passion for trucking with Brownies Cartage and Horne & Pitfield. He then went on to work for Imperial Oil in the far North in the desalinization plant on the off shore rigs. He also partnered with his eldest son in the purchase of Zero News. Lee retired from the work force in 1990. He loved his pets, music, playing his guitars, harmonica, and enjoyed singing while he played. He is predeceased by his wife Winnie (Flavelle), step-brother Pearl Hall, and survived by his children; Garth (Lois) Hall, Doug Hall, Debbie (Dave) Naylor, Don Hall, Valerie Hall, Kim (Greg Moore) Hall. Grandchildren; Oran (Erin) Hall, Tyler Hall, Jennifer (Trent) Read, Christopher (Colleen) Naylor, Kevin Naylor, Lynn (Ryan) Rains, Shauna, Justin and Hannah Moore. Great grandchildren; Johnathon, Kaylene, Ashlyn, Mason, Hunter and Amelia.
