Obituary of Judy Ann Dunlop

Judy Dunlop was born on June 9, 1946 to Marjorie and Evrand (Shorty) Dunlop. She grew up in Westside, BC in a tiny house filled with six younger siblings and lots of love. Many lifelong friendships were made during those years. Judy was a bit of a prankster she managed to convince her sister Gaile that the piece of fat in the pork and beans was really a caramel. Judy grew up and married David MacKenzie. They had one child Tracey and cared for her sister Donna's son Jamey until he was six. Judy and Dave moved to Hudson's Hope where they made another lifelong friendship with Lois and Ken Curry. They moved back to Kamloops then up to Fort St. John where they bought their first house and she went to work at Neeta Boutique beginning her career in fashion. Judy and Dave divorced and she moved to Dawson Creek to run the Boutique in the Dawson Mall. She worked hard hosting fashion shows and continued with this when she started working for the Dawson Co-op Family Fashions. She met and married Marcel Levesque and they brought Marcel's daughter Denise up from Victoria to live with them. The year 1989 brought the end of their marriage and Judy then went to manage the Lodge where she became a jack of all trades busing tables, cleaning rooms, and fixing toilets. She travelled to Norman Wells to babysit her grandsons and lived there for a year with Tracey, Rylan and Iain. When she returned to Dawson a friend brought her and her beloved dog Emma. Emma was a huge part of Judy's life. They went everywhere together. Judy was blessed with calls and visits by friends and family before she passed. She is no longer in pain and now she sleeps in the arms of God. Judy passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at home on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Dawson Creek at the age of 68 years.
