Obituary of Andrew Strathern

Andrew Strathern, a long time resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Prince George at the age of 69 years. Andrew was born in Scotland and always dreamed of a pilgrimage to his homeland but in the meantime, he found the comfort along the riverbanks or deep in the forest. He was a simple man of principals, a loyal friend and always a gentleman. He was a scholar and philosopher with a great love getting together with similar minds, especially those that played his war games with him. He and my father found a particular bond and each year at Christmas they would exchange books through the mail. Andrew and my Father both had quite extensive war history libraries. Andrew was kind and generous especially for those he cared about. He had an awareness and ability to read and understand the people he met. He will be greatly missed by many of us especially his dog Buster who is happily being spoiled by Barry & Cecile. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Pauline Haycock officiated. Interment will be at a later date. Andrew is survived by his friends; Wendy Wiseman & Cecile Tutin. Special Memories written of Andrew by Friend; Wendy Wiseman.
