Obituary of Kim Dean Thomas Kiss

Kim Kiss, a resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed peacefully at home on October 23, 2014 at the age of 60 years. Kim was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on June 4, 1954 to Michael and Edith Kiss. He was the fifth of eight children. In December of 1972 Kim married the love of his life Dorothy Kiss (nee Hill) in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. The happy couple moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta and then finally set up house in Logan Lake, B.C. in 1979, where Kim began his career in the mining industry. He worked for many years in the copper mining industry for Teck at their Highland Valley Copper mine, finishing his long successful career as a training and development foreman. After years of commuting from Logan Lake to Dawson Creek, Kim finally had the opportunity to work for Teck at their Quintette Coal Operation in Tumbler Ridge, B.C. Kim took early retirement on May 23, 2014 with the intent of spending lots of time with his life partner and their grandkids. Unfortunately, Kim was diagnosed with lung cancer on July 2, 2014. Kim is predeceased by his loving parents Michael and Edith Kiss (nee Miller), and also by his mother-in-law Elizabeth Hill (nee Derbyshire), and his father-in-law William Hill. Kim is also predeceased by his niece Heather MacKay (nee Dunn). Kim is survived by his loving wife: Dorothy Kiss (nee Hill), his daughters: Kimberly Kiss and grandson Benjamin Binkley; Kendra Cournoyer (Kiss) and son-in-law Francois and children Scott, Sophie and Lucy. Kim also is survived by his brothers & sisters: Shirley Dunn, Grant Kiss, Gary (Dianna) Kiss; Gay (Johnny) Rushinka; Craig (Gloria) Kiss; Kerry (Cindy) Kiss, and Mona (Rick) Manulak, as well as his many nieces and nephews in Manitoba and B.C. Kim is also survived by sister-in-law Patricia (Hugh) Lysohirka, as well as brother-in-law Steven (Pamela) Hill and nieces and nephews in B.C and AB. Kim also has many extended family and friends all around the country and different parts of the world who will remember him. Kim's family would also like to thank: Khrista Braddick and Ken Scott for their friendship and care for Kim while palliating at home.
