Obituary of Ruth Rose

Ruth was born April 24, 1927 in Pouce Coupe, British Columbia to Daniel and Edna Abel, the third child of a large, loving family. Ruth grew up on a farm in Rolla and attended Landry School. She was very bright and loved to read and learn new things. Ruth was always cheerful with a ready smile or laugh. Ruth married Robert Middleton in 1952, they had four children - Daniel, Barry, Rob and Laurie. She worked as a bookkeeper for Electrolux in Dawson Creek. She was a hard worker, raising the children on her own, even managing to buy a house before marrying John. In 1973, Ruth married John Rose. They shared 41 years of marriage as best friends, combining their two families into a large family of seven children - Daniel, Barry, Rob, Laurie, Lois, Dale and Karen. Ruth was a member of the Landry Women's Institute and served as president of the Canadian Cancer Society in Dawson Creek. Ruth loved nature, one of her favorite hobbies was gardening. She always had beautiful flower beds. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and baking, there were always homemade sweets around. Ruth loved to sing. She was always singing and dancing around the house. She sang out of tune, which didn't matter because she always sang with the biggest smile on her face. Ruth always told you exactly how she saw things. She believed in being honest and straightforward no matter what. Ruth was a very strong person - a fighter. She battled cancer and beat it twice. She was a wonderful grandma and spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Ruth will be missed by her husband John, her children Daniel, Barry, Rob, Laurie, Lois, Dale and Karen, and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
