Obituary of Helen Adailine Crocker

Helen Adailine Crocker was born on July 19, 1940 and was the fourth child to Olga and Paul Radke of Gordondale, Alberta. Helen received her schooling at Bonanza School. After that she went to work in Dawson Creek as a waitress in Wings restaurant. There, she caught the eye of Walter Pasmeny and they married in Gronlid, Saskatchewan on July 14, 1959. They lived in Paul and Olga's yard for the first few years of their marriage and had three children: Ron; Leroy; and Beverly. Helen and Walter started homesteading in Cotillion in 1964, where they had a mixed farming operation. Helen truly loved her cows and any other farm animals. Walter was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in November 1976. Helen stayed on the farm, raising her two sons. Helen had known Russel Crocker from Bonanza School and a few years after Walter's passing Helen and Russel's long time friendship blossomed into a long lasting romance. They were married March 16, 1979 and resided in Cotillion on the homestead. The marriage not only brought a husband, but it also included Russel's children and grandchildren. Helen enjoyed being with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh. When you saw the twinkle in her eye, you had better look out. Helen loved to visit but after her stroke her words didn't always come easily to her, but now she is having the best conversations with all her friends and family she hasn't seen in a while.
