Obituary of David James Ray

David James Ray 1952 - 2015 David James Ray, resident of Vancouver and formerly of Fort St. John, British Columbia passed away June 21, 2015, aged 62, at the Dr. Peters Centre in Vancouver. He was born July 29, 1952 in Fort St. John, the third child of John and Betty Ray. David enjoyed time with family and friends, always laughing and having fun, and often sharing a meal he had cooked. David loved opera and gardening was his passion. David had the ability to take an empty garden space and transform it into a work of art. He loved to talk and visit with anyone, and loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews. David was a dedicated childcare worker in Vancouver, loved by all. He will be remembered for his positive, caring and compassionate attitude. David had unbelievable strength and determination to live his life to the fullest, overcoming whatever challenges life gave him. His smile brought laughter and warmth to all who knew him. David was predeceased by his partner, Harold Giampa, and parents John and Betty Ray. He will be remembered by his sisters Sandra, Lori-Anne, Lana, and Charlene, brother Dale, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Fort St. John City Cemetery, officiated by Father Vener Sabacan.
