Obituary of Theodore John "Ted" Green

Theodore "Ted" Green 1957 ~ 2015 It is with profound sadness that we advise Ted Green passed away suddenly of a heart attack August 3, 2015 at his home in Grandhaven. Rose and Walter Green of Fort St. John, B.C. welcomed their oldest child, Theodore John Green, to the world May 27, 1958. Ted was the first of 4 children that Rose and Walter had and raised. Ted spent his entire life living in Fort St. John and working in the trucking portion of the oil & gas industry. This calling was introduced to him at the age of 4 when Walter would occasionally bring Ted along on a short trip. Ted's love of the trucking industry over-rode his desire for formal schooling thus it was no surprise that he left high school somewhat early and began his lifelong career path. He worked for a variety of area firms including TCL, Fedderly Transportation, Pro Pile and for the past 16 years, Macro Industries. Ted had 2 great kids, Tamra Lee in 1976 and Curtis Gary in 1978 from his 1st marriage. Tamra and Curtis started their own families and made Ted a grandad 12 times over - a job he also loved immensely. Ted met Carolyn Brodie in 1994 and those 2 were together since. This union introduced him to his step-kids Shellene and Todd. Ted and Carolyn welcomed their daughter Venessa Mary to the world in 1997. Ted loved life, a good laugh, a practical joke, to emit some oddball sound effect and to help out anyone who needed it. Many a parade float in town was driven by Ted and how many unsuspecting people would arrive home in midwinter to discover Ted had 'borrowed' a loader or similar from his employers and plowed out the driveway! The list of swampers, drivers, etc. whom he mentored over the years is extensive. He passed his passion for the industry on to many of them, such that they continued down the same career path. Ted specialized in operating picker trucks and his skill in this was well known and appreciated. He took tremendous pride in knowing his employers would entrust him with some of their most expensive equipment. Ted is survived by Carolyn, Rose, Walter and a very large extended family. A funeral service was held August 8, 2015 at the Church of the Resurrection, Fort St. John, British Columbia, officiated by Father Vener Sabacan. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ted, may be made by donation to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1480-7 Avenue, Prince George, British Columbia V2L 3P2 Service 10:00 am Saturday, August 8, 2015 Church of the Resurrection 9504 100Avenue Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada
