Obituary of Terry Kae Onychuk

Terry Kae Onychuk 1954 - 2015 Terry Kae Onychuk (Abel) age 61, passed on from her earthly existence with love and family close by, at the Palliative Care unit in the Dawson Creek Hospital. She courageously fought cancer for a year to the very last breath. We thank all those who cheered Terry and gave her strength throughout her battle with sickness. She is now free and we know we will see her again. Terry grew up in the small community of Groundbirch on her parent's farm. She always felt very loved, protected and sheltered by her predeceased parents Herman Henry Abel and Phyllis (Wetherill); she cherished her proceeded siblings: Dawn, Valerie, Amber, Kenneth, Shellie, Shannon, and Dannette. Terry is survived by her loving husband Gregory Onychuk, whom she married at the young age of 17 and he 20. Terry lived a very rich and full life with the companionship of Greg; together bringing joy and health to all those who have been fortunate enough to cross their path over the years. They have called many places home' including the Okanagan, Merritt, and Victoria. But most recently came back home to where their love and family began, Dawson Creek. Their adoration and faithfulness to each other is rare and admired. Terry's legacy continues to live on in the lives of her greatest treasures here on earth, through her five children and twelve grandchildren. Jerri-Lynn (spouse Karl Peterson) Children: Karlyn, Benjamin, Isaac, and Emma now living in MaGrath, AB; Douglas (spouse Janine Frankson) Children: Sunniva, Kniah, Chevauna, and Karenza Residing in Vernon, BC; Patrice (spouse Corbett Ekstrom) Children: Kaden, Aliyah, and Tasia residing in Dawson Creek BC; Chelsea (spouse Joshua Smith) Child: Lily residing in Victoria, BC; and Stuart also residing in Victoria, BC.
