Obituary of Roy Michael Neuman

Roy Michael Neuman resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia and former resident of Merritt, British Columbia, Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador. Roy passed away suddenly on September 13, 2015 at the age of 75 years. He was born on June 28, 1940, in Edmonton, Alberta to Artur Neuman and Agnes Belcourt. Roy was the oldest of six brothers. He grew up in Faust, Alberta and attended schools in Faust and Kinuso, Alberta. Roy was born to a fisherman and so it was of no surprise when he left home in his early 20's to make a life on the water. Roy traveled to many places and sought work in commercial fishing. Later, he worked as a marine engineer with various tug boat companies and then as a relief engineer with BC Ferries. Roy worked on both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Not one to sit idle, Roy worked in his later years as a ranch and farm hand. Throughout his life, Roy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Roy was married to Paulette Willier and they had one daughter, Dianna. Roy is predeceased by his wife Paulette Neuman; his parents Artur Neuman and Agnes (nee Belcourt) Peterson; his brothers Charlie Peterson and Arthur Neuman. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Dianna; his brothers Richard, Peter and Harold, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held for Roy on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00am at the Bergeron Funeral Chapel in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. A viewing will be held at 10:30am prior to the service.
