Obituary of Byron Jose Arrieta

Byron Jose' Arrieta passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, in Dawson Creek at the age of 43 years. Byron was born on February 4, 1972 in Nicaragua- one of nine children to Elba and Sergio Arrieta. They moved to Miami, Florida and then to Grande Prairie, AB in 1988. Byron chose to stay in Grande Prairie when his parents moved away, and lived with Doreen Conley. Byron met Carole (Lund), in 1993 and they married in 1996. He worked many jobs until he settled in a career with the oilfield, working pipelines, waste disposal plants, and eventually his last job as a field operator with Tourmaline. Byron also ranched cattle with his family. He was very proud of the herd of cows they raised. With a strong work ethic, he put all he had into every job he did. Byron truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; stopping in for a coffee with neighbors and picking up the phone to talk with you. He treasured fishing, boating, watching his children play hockey, and spending time with his friends and family. He loved spending quiet evenings on his boat at the lake fishing. Byron valued trips with his children, whether they be back to Nicaragua, or a fishing trip to Red Fern or Swan Lake. Byron is survived by his wife; of 19 years, Carole, four children; Shantel, Stephanie, Antonio, Andreah, parents; Elba and Sergio, eight siblings; Sergio, Karla, Erick, Carolina, Leslie, Xiomara, Fernando, Marlon, nieces, nephews, numerous family and many friends. A celebration of Byron's life was held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Cotillion Hall. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Byron to your local food bank.
