Obituary of William John "Bill" Jurreit

William John Jurreit was born May 22,1936 in Merritt, BC. Bill passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Dawson Creek, BC with his family by his side. Bill was the oldest of four children. He would often tell stories of his adventures with his brother Carl, and the neighborhood kids exploring the hills surrounding Merritt. Bill grew up in the Nicola Valley most of his life. In 1969 Bill and Angelina married and made Kamloops their home. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, fishing and always loved country drives with his family. Bill worked at the Pulp Mill in Kamloops and as a heavy duty mechanic on various construction jobs. He was a member of the Operating Engineers for over 50 years. Bill's favorite past time after retiring was selling horse tack and attending auctions, gun shows, rodeos and fairs, he enjoyed talking about the old days and bargain hunting. To people he was known as old Bill, a name he was proud of. Bill was predeceased by his mother and father, step dad, brother and wife. Bill leaves to mourn his daughter Melody (Spike),grandchildren Vanessa (Kelly), Kamen (Jessie), Veraray (Andrew), Katie (Darryl), Bronaugh (Rich), great granddaughter Kinsley, dog Benny, and several relatives.
