Obituary of William Clinton Edward Smith

On July 16th, 2016 Bill passed away peacefully at his home with family in attendance at the age of 83 years. Born to Phenie and William Smith Sr., March 13, 1933 in Cabri, Saskatchewan, Bill grew up on the farm as the youngest of ten children. He went off to work in the oil patch in his early teens, eventually ending up in Dawson Creek, BC. He worked in the oil patch until he was 77 years old. While in Dawson Creek, Bill met Lorraine Shirley Anderson and on July 2, 1956, they were married in the First United Church. They settled in Dawson Creek, where they were blessed with four children. In 1981, Lorraine and Bill moved to Doe River where they became caring and cared-for members of the community. They raised and trained racehorses, farmed, and Bill always enjoyed telling a good joke. Bill was predeceased in 2010 by Lorraine, his wife of 54 years.
