Obituary of Harriet Walker

Harriet Caldwell Walker was born in Scotland. At the age of eighteen Harriet immigrated to Canada where she met her beloved husband Donald Walker - predeceased (Dec 7, 1991). As they built their lives together the family moved from Montreal to Vancouver then to Prince George. Harriet worked at the Prince George Regional Hospital as an Occupational Therapist assistant for numerous years. After retiring, Harriet joined her daughter and family in Dawson Creek where she resided till her passing. Harriet Walker lost her battle with cancer July 24, 2016. She fought long and hard and would not let it steal her amazing humour. She continued to make us laugh till her final days. Harriet was an amazing woman loved by all that she met. Harriet would bake you cookies and make you scrubby dish cloths just because. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Donna Gairdner, son Steve Walker, grandchildren Michael, Ryan and Colin. Harriet was very proud of her children and grandchildren and spent many hours caring for her four legged friend - Fez. Family in Prince George and Scotland remained an important part of her life. We have lost a beautiful, loving and caring person. Heaven has gained another angel. Many thanks to the staff at the Dawson Creek Hospital for their professionalism and kindness, nurses and staff for the exemplary compassion and care shown during Harriet's illness. There will be no formal ceremony and a gathering of family and friends will be determined at a later date.
