Obituary of Denise Bourgeois

Denise Bourgeois, a lifelong resident of Chetwynd, B.C. passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 in Chetwynd at the age of 60 years. Denise Nina Jane was born on April 10, 1956 to Napoleon and Jean Paul and was the third of nine children. Denise spent most of her childhood in East Pine before moving to Sundance Lake. She also spent time living with her sister Sandy and brother-in-law Donnie in Fort Nelson. Denise spent her adult life in Chetwynd. She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters, family was important to her. Around 1979 Denise met Rocky and they had a busy life with a revolving door of friends and family. No matter the time of day, you were always welcome at their house for coffee or a cold beer. Denise was always there to give a hug and a welcome giggle. Denise had two boys; Leslie was born on September 5, 1974 and Christopher on March 3, 1981. Denise loved her boys and cherished them while they grew up, making them her top priority. The one thing Denise loved more than being a mom, was being a grandma. Leslie provided her with four grandkids, Jerrico, Jayden, Sheriden, and Theseus, as well as Christopher's son Nicholas. Any spare moment she had was with her boys or her grandchildren. Denise was a hard worker, she was the best server around, nobody could carry as many plates on one arm as she could. She also worked as a barmaid at the Chetywnd Hotel and as a waitress at the stagecoach Restaurant. Denise also worked as a clerk at the Seven Eleven but due to health reasons in 1993 she had to leave. She also loved her hanging flowers and her garden. Some of her favorite times were spent outside with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for being kind, warm and inviting. Denise was predeceased by her father Napoleon Paul, mother Maggie Jane Swanson, and her nephews Darin Paul and Ernie Guillet Jr. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Chetwynd Fellowship Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Evans officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
