Obituary of Lorena Bestward

A long time resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. Lorena Bestward, passed away in the arms of her loving husband John on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Rotary Manor, at the age of 81 years. Laurie was born Dec. 4, 1934 in Holdfast Saskatchewan to Joseph and Katharine Hungle. She grew up in Dilke, Saskatchewan and attended the Van Size and Kenockee Country schools. Lorena married John Bestward in Dilke on September 21, 1953 and they eventually made their way to Dawson Creek where they raised their family. Over the years she worked in Woolworths department store and the Pagoda Restaurant. Laurie loved to go camping , play bingo, knit and crochet. Lorena was predeceased by her Son; Dale Bestward, Parents; Joseph and Katherine Hungle, Brother; Edward, Sister; Theresa. Lorena will be lovingly remembered by her Husband; John of 62 years, Daughter; Donna (Rodger), Sons; Wayne (Norma), Russ (Darlene), brothers; Fritz, Daniel, Ronald, sisters; Eileen Pedron, Francis Parker, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Cremation services were held at Reynars Crematorium. With Respect to Lorena's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. Interment will be held at a later date.
