Obituary of John Francis "Red" Wagner

John Francis Wagner July 5, 1931 - January 13, 2017 John "Red" "Jack" Wagner was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on July 5, 1931 and passed away at the age of 85 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia on January 13, 2017. Jack was known to have lived his life direct and to the point, never shying away to offer up his opinion whether you asked for it or not! We pray he knew the high opinion we held of him. We will forever miss the joy, laughter, love, and occasional smart ass comment he brought to our lives. He survived over 30 years in the construction industry and only lost half a finger; he survived the years he spent river boating although he unintentionally took a couple of cold swims; he survived bronc riding although he was bucked off a time or two; he survived the years farming although lighting struck him twice out in the pasture; and his patient wife, Jean Wagner, survived a 62 year marriage. In the early years, he enjoyed the sports of baseball and curling and had a lifelong passion for the game of Bridge. He leaves behind Jean, his brother Keith (Mary), his children Carol (John) Cunningham, Frances (Murray) Armstrong, Sandra (Brian) Robertson, Dick (Carol) Wagner and special niece, Beth (Ken) Thola, his 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a couple of decent Bridge partners. A memorial service celebrating Red's life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Senior Citizens Hall from 2:00-4:00PM.
