Obituary of Ruth Florence Floen

It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Ruth Florence Floen on February 08, 2017 at the age of 79. Ruth was born at Johanna's in Sexsmith, Alberta April 23, 1937. She attended school in Valhalla Centre and Grande Prairie. Ruth married Rod in 1958 and they were blessed with three children. Ruth was an awesome Mom, with family always being most important. Animals, gardening, puzzles, reading, baking, cards, and Sudoku were some of the things she loved to do. Ruth was a people person so the coffee was always on and everyone was welcome. She made many friends through her life and was loved by those who knew her best. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Rod, their children Karen (Cal McNeil), Wendy (Mark Simpson), and Lyle (Aly), grandson Joe Lewis (Sarah), sisters-in-law Carol Punt, Arlene Morgan, Ann Smith (Phil), and Lynn Takahashi (David), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Clifford and Gertrude (Hanson) Floen, sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Ronald Floen, sister Grace, father-in-law Norman and mother-in-law Ellen (Crantz) Floen, and brother-in-law Phil Punt. Donations may be made to the Valhalla Cemetery or a charity of one's choice.
