Obituary of Leon Manley Reaume

Leon was born in Hythe, AB, the 9th of 11 children. Together with his wife, Inga (Jorgensen), they raised 4 daughters on an acreage at Mile 4 on the Alaska Highway. They increased the size of their farm, built up a cow/calf operation, and sent all four daughters off to college or university. In addition to farming, Leon worked fulltime for many years as a school bus driver/mechanic for School District 59. In the early 70's, Leon shifted his focus from repairing school buses to repairing his farm equipment; he continued, however, to drive school bus until he retired in 1993. Leon's generous spirit meant he was always willing to lend his skills, equipment, and time to help his neighbours and family. This generosity included a meal or a bed for both short-term and long-term guests. Leon leaves behind his 4 daughters Judy (Scott) Templeton, Leda Reaume (Kevin Leake), Mona Reaume, Wendy Reaume (Gary Kielpinski); his 8 grandchildren, Amy, Daniel, Elissa (Mark), Jamie (Dragan), Kyrstie, Travis, Isaac, Elliot; his 2 great-grandchildren, Faith & Nina; and his sisters, Dorothy Sudnik, Irene McCallister & Ollie Clarke (John). Leon was predeceased by his wife, Inga, and seven of his siblings-George, Leda, Wannie, Elaine, Ramon, Johnny, and Davy. A memorial service will be held to honour Leon on Saturday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Bergeron Funeral Chapel in Dawson Creek. Feel free to attend wearing red-Leon's favourite colour.
