Obituary of Nora May Gardner

Nora Gardner, a longtime resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away in Rotary Manor on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the age of 97 years. Nora May Gardner was born in Shipton-On-Stour, England on July 2, 1919. She came to Canada with her husband Francis and son Paul in 1953. They moved to Dawson Creek in 1954. She spent her life in her yard and in her garden. Nora and Francis loved to travel. They spent many hours in their camper van travelling across Canada. Nora often talked about the beauty of Canada and all they had seen. With her super memory she could recall, in vivid detail, all the places they visited. She moved to Northview in May 2009. She enjoyed her time there and was well cared for and liked by the staff. She entered Rotary Manor in March 2014. She spent three years there and after a short illness, she passed away. Nora is survived by her only son Paul (Myrna) Gardner, her grandchildren; Rick (Betty) Roth, Deryl (Shirley) Roth, Deanne (Tracy) Steinke, six great grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Nora will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. A special thank you to the staff at Rotary Manor for all their care and support. With respect to Nora's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Nora will be laid to rest with her husband Francis in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery at a later date.
