Obituary of Kyle Gary Blum

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, son, brother, grandson and friend, Kyle Blum, who was taken from us suddenly on Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Hythe, Alberta at the age of 23 years. Kyle Gary Blum was born on December 22, 1993 in Comox, BC. He was the first born child of his mother Brandy and second born to his father Michael. Kyle grew up in Tumbler Ridge and Dawson Creek. He attended Tumbler Ridge Elementary, Tumbler Ridge Senior Secondary, as well as Central and South Peace Schools. Kyle welcomed the birth of his first child at the age of 16, and his second at 21. His children Justin and Kinsley were his world. Kyle was the kind of father that made time for his children. He was just beginning to share his love of the outdoors with them. After the birth of his son, Kyle quit school to go to work to provide for his family. Kyle and his siblings were born so close together that the bond they had could never be broken. Whether it be Kyle and Matthew learning to ride a dirt bike, or Evan and Kyle sharing their love of fishing together. Kirsten and her brother were partners in crime for awhile, skipping school and sneaking out together. They were each other's best friend. He loved to spend his time at the Sukunka River. Almost every weekend was spent there in his younger years. If Kyle wasn't in the river fishing, he was burning around on his dirt bike. His enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed. The memories of Kyle will live on forever in our hearts. Kyle was predeceased by Lloyd and Evelyn Spinks, Ed and June Collins, Ken and Carleen Borek, Cecil Simmonds, Gary Simmonds, and Trent Collins. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Pauline Haycock officiated. Interment will be held at a later date.
