Obituary of Angeline Harriette McKenzie

Angeline (Anne) Harriette McKenzie, 84, of Grande Prairie, Alberta, formerly Dawson Creek,British Columbia, passed away on April 3, 2017. Anne was born in Whitestar near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Odias and Yvonne Cartier on November 16, 1932. After graduating high school, she began her 40 year career with MacDonalds Consolidated in Saskatchewan and continued with the company as an Order Desk Clerk in Dawson Creek, B.C. Her love of knitting began at the age of eleven and continued for the rest of her 84 years of life. Anne also enjoyed playing fastball as a pitcher, golfing with friends, travelling the world, working at Dawson Creek Curling Club concession, and of course playing Bingo, or trying her luck at the Casino slot machines. Some of her favorite memories were at the cabin at Swan Lake with family and friends, and her summers spent looking for lost golf balls and making soup for relatives, friends and staff at Mark's 9 Golf Course in Prince Albert. Anne is survived by her two sisters Evelyn Brandon and Vivian (Wayne) Bertram; one brother Allister (Arlene) Cartier; sister-in-law's Ethel Brandon, Rose Cartier and Dorothy Nastiuk; daughter Velda (Clint) McKenzie-Diederich; son-in-law Dale Brown; grandchildren and great grandchildren TJ (Courtney) McKenzie and their sons Dexon, Cohen, and Nash; Dalene (Wade) Pilat and their daughters Priya and Saige; Brooke (Matt) Prince; Kailon Brown and his daughter Fallyn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Gertie, Delia, Arthur, Arnold, Lily, Bill, Tom, Leonard, Mark, and infant sister Vivian; two partners in life, Ron McKenzie and Charlie Supernault; infant daughter Valerie Irene at the age of 2 months, and daughter Valerie Anne Brown. A Celebration of Life and luncheon gathering will be held at the Bergeron Funeral Home 10200 17 Street, Dawson Creek, B.C. on April 22, 2017 at 1:00p.m. (B.C. time). Memorial donations may be made to any junior golf program, little league ball program or kids sport program in your area.
