Obituary of Claire Jewel Neste

Claire Jewel Neste 1930 - 2017 With deep sadness and with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather. A man of true grit, strength and unconditional love for his family that goes beyond words. He was truly amazing. He passed away peacefully with family at his side on July 5th. Claire was born in Rolla, BC on the family homestead to Myrtle and Arnold Neste on March 10, 1930. The oldest of three children, brother to Arden and Lynn. He married his lifetime soulmate and sweetheart Marion Sekyer, who was the love of his life for over 62 years. Claire was hardworking with an unrivaled passion and energy for all things in life. His success in business resulted in his ability to retire early. Many years were spent traveling to the States for the winter months, where three of his children reside, and returning for the summer months to Dawson Creek to spend time with his daughter and her family. One Island Lake was where he loved to be, his sanctuary. He spent his summer months there resulting in quality time with family and friends. Memories that will be treasured for a lifetime. Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife and his four children, Janet (Mike Fraser), Brad (Wanda), Barry (Sheila) and Judi (Keelan Jackson), and his four grandchildren, Kaillah, Brody (Kaela), Keenan and Mikaylee. He will be missed greatly. The memory and love for him will live on in the hearts of us all. If love alone could have kept him alive he would have lived forever! At Claire's request, there will be no service held. The Family wishes to thank the nursing staff and doctors at the Dawson Creek Hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation.
