Obituary of Richard Rowe

Thomas Richard Rowe 1930 - 2017 Thomas Richard Rowe was born March 2, 1930 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. He was the second son of Fred and Mary Rowe. He was raised on a farm in Pontrilas until he was 10 years old. Due to his father's health the family moved to Nipawin, Saskatchewan where he attended school and enjoyed playing hockey and baseball, and where his true love for fishing began in the Saskatchewan River. In October 1946 he moved with his parents to Dawson Creek where he worked at his uncle Clarence's sawmill. In 1950, at a Salvation Army young people's function, he met his future bride Vera Pack. They were married on March 28, 1953 spending 64 wonderful years together, raising 3 children, Dale, Stan and Aldona. Over the years Richard wore many hats, construction worker, truck driver, carpenter but his heart always belonged to farming, having spent many years on the farm at Buick Creek, BC. Richard loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter, fisherman, and snowmobiler. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cabin at One Island Lake, where many cherished memories were made. Richard was predeceased by his parents Fred and Mary Rowe, daughter Aldona, grandson Ryan, great-grandson Brody, sister Pholona and brother Don.
