Obituary of Christopher Allan Thompson

Christopher Thompson, a resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Dawson Creek at the age of 28 years. Christopher Allan Thompson was born on April 12, 1989 in Dawson Creek. For three years he had the full attention of his mom, Ellen, and along with the attention of his dad, Darrin, he also had a friend. After three years, Chris was happy to welcome Parker, and not long after came Spencer to complete their family. Hunting was a big deal to the Thompson men, along with salmon fishing. Chris taught Ellen about love, kindness, patience, hurt and forgiveness. Chris was always willing to lend a hand and was a kind hearted soul. That is why he had such great relationships with his grandparents. Helping Papa Ian at the Doe River Rodeo was always something Christopher enjoyed because he was an animal lover, and he always had someone to chat with at the rodeo. Going on road trips with Grandma there were always adventures to be had. Having a Granny as a baker must be how Chris inherited a love for being in the kitchen and he would put everything but the kitchen sink into his dish. There was always a soft spot in Christopher's heart for his Grandpa Roy. Chris loved hanging out with friends, especially Jamie. Watching movies all day, and then quoting their favorites, "Men In Black" and "The Godfather". Jamie and Chris had a strong connection; that included expensive phone bills from calling every morning and every afternoon. In Jamie's eyes, nobody can fill Christopher's shoes especially indulging in weekend beer time. Many memories from his friends include wrestling on the trampoline and on the lawn. Chris would always come up with new moves that made for lots of laughs. Christopher did have a serious side to him because he was always giving advice to his friends. They would reply with, "Yes, Dad" so Chris put a sticker on his hardhat that said Dad. He was also so laid back people would say he had two speeds, slow and slower, but he always had a smile on his face. Working with his dad it was nonstop joking all day while listening to some of Chris' favorite songs. Chris always thought of himself as a joker, so much as that he got a joker tattoo on his arm, which is now also on his urn. A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Pauline Haycock officiated. Interment will be held at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Chris to the Diabetes Association of Canada, Northern B.C. and Yukon Regional Office, 103-490 Quebec Street, Prince George, B.C. V2L 5N5.
