Obituary of Nola Doreen Hiebert

Nola Doreen Hiebert of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 3, 2017. She was born the fourth of six children to Leonard and Mary Leepart on November 12, 1942, in Wadena, SK. She lived on the family farm until she went in search of adventure at 19 years young, settling first in Penhold, AB, then moving further north to Dawson Creek in 1965. She met the love of her life, Jerry, in February 1966 and married soon after on September 3 that year. Before starting a family, she worked as a telephone operator for SaskTel, AGT and BCTel and for the Dawson Creek Co-op in advertising and the men's department. After raising her four children, she returned to the workforce as an employee of School District #59 working as a teachers' aide, noon hour supervisor and lastly as a custodian. She loved working with children of all ages and needs and received awards of recognition for her great work. Her laugh was contagious; her sense of humour (although sarcastic) was always on. She was the bearer of never-ending hugs and yet could stop you in your tracks with the look'. She lived for her family, friends, music, camping, art and being with nature. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; children, Sherry, Shyann, Jerry and Rocky; grandchildren Chelbi, Hayden, Darian, Wyatt, Brooke and Ryker; and great-grandchild Alan. She will be greatly missed by her family and dear friends. Forever cherished, never forgotten, always loved. With respect for Nola's wishes, no service will be held.
