Obituary of Shelly J Corke

On November 10, 2017 Shelly Joyce (Jordan) Corke passed away at 62 years of age, after a short, courageous battle against cancer. Shelly was born January 20, 1955 at the Pouce Coupe Hospital. Shelly is the youngest of eight children born to John and Gertrude Jordan. Shelly went to school in Dawson Creek and went on to business college in Vancouver. She held many jobs from banking, fast food, and retail work. Shelly loved to watch HGTV and the Food Network and spend time on her computer on Facebook and computer games in her spare time. She loved to camp, and especially enjoyed family get togethers. She really loved to meet and cuddle with the new babies joining our family. She also really enjoyed company parties with all her coworkers. One of her most memorable times was a trip to Japan to visit her son Jason and granddaughter Sena, with a short stopover in San Francisco. Shelly leaves to mourn her husband of 26 years, Don, son Jason of Vancouver, granddaughter Sena of Japan, as well as her brothers Lawrence (Carol) Jordan of Kamloops, Dave Jordan of Armstrong, her sisters Fran Krieger of Kamloops, Linda Fisher of Prince George, Beverly McPherson of Dawson Creek, and Kathleen Jordan of Langley. Also left to mourn are her inlaws George (Sharon) Corke of Kamloops, Edith Babcock of Cherry Creek, Susan (Chris) Garner of Winnipeg, and Kathleen (Harry) Bloom of Lower Nicola. She also leaves many nieces and nephews from all across Canada. Shelly's family would like to thank Dr. Dan Botha Jr. and staff, the Doctors and nurses of the Dawson Creek and District Hospital, the Kordyban Cancer Lodge (Prince George), and the staff of the cancer clinic in Dawson Creek and Prince George for all the TLC during her treatments. A big thank you to our friends, neighbours, and co-workers for their kind words, flowers, cards, visits, support and gifts of food during her 4 month battle against cancer. Also an extra big thank you to Canadian Tire Management and Staff and M&M Meats for the benefit BBQ they held for us. I hope they know how much it was appreciated. Thank you to Bergeron Funeral Home for their support and assistance during our time of sorrow. Shelly will be missed by all her family and also the many friends and coworkers she met along the way. With respect to Shelly's wishes, no service will be held. We will not say "Goodbye Shelly" we will only say "Till we meet again." Expressions of sympathy in memory of Shelly may be made by donation to Hope Air, 102-211 Columbia Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6A 2RN or the SPCA South Peace Branch, 637 114 Avenue, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, V1G 3A1.
