Obituary of Myrtle Grace Scott
Myrtle was born at Pouce Coupe hospital on August 27, 1932, eldest daughter of Grace and Howard Massee. On September 15, 1951, Mum and Dad were married at the Sunset Prairie Anglican church. Mum passed peacefully with Dad by her side on December 27, 2017 at the Dawson Creek hospital. Myrtle is lovingly remembered by Doug, her husband of 66 years. Children: Elaine (Tim) Miller of Penticton; Linda (Bob) Waddell of Dawson Creek; Howard (Arlana) Scott of Kelowna. Grandchildren Randy (Natalie) Miller of Airdrie; Wanda (Rob) Tensen, of Sylvan Lake; Andy (Candi) Waddell of Dawson Creek; Brian (Shelbie) Waddell of Dawson Creek; Kyla Kruger of Grande Prairie; Pam (Evan) MacLennan of Calgary. Great grandchildren Chelsea, Bennett, Victoria, Mason, Erin, Drake, Grace, Oliver, Aryanna, Olivia, and Killian. Sisters: Eileen (Ken) McRann, Eva Gerstel, Leona (Gordon) Farnsworth. She was predeceased by parents Grace and Howard Massee. Mum was a beautiful and dignified lady. She was truthful, artistic, self disciplined and cherished her marriage and family. Sewing, painting, curling, singing, knitting, crocheting, reading, baking and making meals were some of her greatest joys. She dedicated the last part of her life totally to the well being of dad. Always making sure there was a delicious hot meal on the table, clean, ironed clothes in the closet and an immaculately clean house. Every house mum and dad had was made a home by mum's decorative and loving touch. Sometimes, a mom means laughter, sharing and warmth. Sometimes, a mom means understanding, encouragement and guidance. But always a mom means love. A funeral service was held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Dawson Creek Alliance Church, officiated by Pastor Dave Brisbin. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the BC and Yukon Heart & Stroke Foundation, 200-1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC, V6H 3V2.
