Obituary of Bryan Cook

Bryan Cook-Walters, a resident of Surrey, BC, formerly of Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, BC, was taken suddenly on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Surrey at the age of 22 years. Bryan James Alfred Cook-Walters was born in Fort St. John on April 13, 1995 at 2:35 pm to Christina Cook and David Michael Walters. He grew up in Dawson Creek and was the eldest child of Christina Cook. A few stories which stood out the most in his young life were when he was released from the hospital a young cousin wanted to change him but put the diaper on backwards which caused him to wet all over the unfortunate cousin who held him later. Later on in life when his brother was 10 months old, Bryan had no idea that Riley was walking and decided to attempt to steal the toy his brother was playing with unbeknownst to Bryan, Riley got up and chased him wagging his finger and talking baby gibberish, Bryan had the look of I guess I cant steal my brothers toys anymore. Fast forward several years to when Bryan was going on 14 and visiting his mother in the Yukon, we were out driving around and Bryan, trying to impress a young lady, threw a drink at my windshield. Brian attended were Tremblay Elementary School and Central Middle School for a short period of time. He had a few jobs in his short life but the one he enjoyed most was Cameron River Logging in Taylor where he was a labourer/scale attendant. Some of Bryans hobbies included drumming, dirt biking, vehicles and hanging out with his friends. He listened to various types of music but his favorites were Ed Sheeran and Five Finger Death Punch. Bryan belonged to a few clubs but the one he enjoyed the most was the Ark Christian Youth Centre. Bryan was predeceased by his grandfather; Alfred Gowlett, great-grandmother; Jean Alexander and great-grandfather; Thomas Alexander. Bryan is survived by his mother; Christina Cook, father; David Michael Walters, brothers; Riley Madill and Adam Cook, grandparents; James and Donna Alexander, great-grandmother; Lila Gowlett, aunts; Rebekah Alexander-Moedt, April Alexander, Becky Alexander, uncles; Judah Alexander and Jeremy Alexander, foster parents; Brenda and Ed Henderson, foster sister; Tammi Argo, foster brother; Steven Henderson, as well as numerous extended family and friends. Bryan was a loving, caring soul with good things to say about many, whom unfortunately lost his way later in life. A memorial Service was held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Chapel, Pauline Haycock officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
