Obituary of Shannon Edinger

Shannon Edinger 1962 - 2018 Shannon Helen Edinger, resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta and former resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia passed away April 25, 2018 at the age of 56. She was born March 14, 1962 in Vancouver, BC to Gordon (late) and Carol Field, the first of four children. She spent her early childhood years living in Vancouver, then eventually moving to Penticton, Prince George, and then onto Dawson Creek. Our family started in 1984 with Alysha, 1987 with Tamara, then 1991 with Rylan. The kids grew and the years went by but she did not miss a single event, whether it was a school performance, dance recital, or a soccer game. In these years she also completed her G.E.D. with honors. The family spread out for a while but reunited in Grande Prairie in 2013, where grandkids were now on their way and she wasn't going to miss a second of that. The piece of her heart that was saved for this, was now filled. Her heart was always out there wrapping around family and friends unconditionally. She was the family's rock, even in this moment in time she showed everyone what a true heart is. Along with reading a good book, sitting by a campfire, or on the hunt for antique china, she found a passion for scrapbooking. Little did we know at that time, why you were saving every piece of the kids school work, moments from trips, and countless pictures. We now know why. Everything had a story to it. Your hours and hours of scrapbooking are now treasured forever. We would also like to honor the devoted home care team, nurses and doctors in Grande Prairie for their heartfelt kindness and compassion as we walked through this journey. Thank you for the fantastic care that Shannon received. Survived and fondly remembered by her husband of 33 years, Randy Edinger; mother to Alysha (Darcy) Keithley and Rylan Edinger; grandmother to Carson, Blake, and Callum Keithley; daughter to Carol Field; daughter-in-law to Teresa Edinger, Richard and Ruth Edinger; sister to Heather Field (Rob Rand), Tracy Field (Tom Harper) and Brad Field (Wanda Freeman), auntie to numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Shannon was predeceased by her daughter Tamara Edinger, father Gordon Field, and her sister-in-law Valerie Myatt. A Celebration of Life was held on May 1, 2018 at the Bergeron Funeral Chapel, and interment followed May 2, 2018 at the City of Grande Prairie Cemetery.
