Obituary of Rosemary Miles

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Rosemary Miles, on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the age of 89 years, in Tumbler Ridge, BC. Rosemary was born at home, near the town of Gardenton, Manitoba on March 26, 1931 to Nick and Polly Kosowan. She was the eldest of three children. Her brother George was born two years later, and 11 years after George came sister Lena. Mom worked hard all of her life and worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Her first job was as a waitress in Emerson, Manitoba. Soon she met Burny Haynes, they married and had five children, and in 1970 the family relocated to Calgary, Alberta. After their divorce Mom met her second husband, John Miles, in Calgary and before long, and with half her heart left behind in Calgary, she left for New Zealand where she married John and stayed for 15 years. They returned to Canada and made a home in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. After John passed away, Mom relocated to Calgary where she lived until the last year of her life. Mom passed away in Tumbler Ridge, BC where she was keeping safe from Covid. Our Mom was the most loving, kind and devoted Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Baba and friend to so many. She could not have been prouder of her children. They were each loved and cherished and she would do anything for any of them. Anyone fortunate enough to have met our Mom always knew how special she was. She loved gospel music, crocheting, playing crib, going to bingo and the casino, reading, gardening, cooking, car rides, angels, and most of all, her family. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, her sweet disposition, and her kind and compassionate heart. She will always be missed and loved. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, her childrens father, her husband, her brother, and her grandson, Dustin Payette. Her spirit lives on in her five children: Rae, Wayne, Laurie (Ivan), Diane (Lorne), and Roxsane, as well as her step-children Peter (Kathryn) and Roger; grandchildren Alex, Ryan, Nick (Megan), Zennon, Tara (Seamus), Jenna (Denis), Brad (Jessica), Amanda, Steven (Merissa) and step-grandchildren Kelsey and Sarah; and great-grandchildren Jake, Declan, Draydon, Autumn, Skye, Zara and Slade and step-great-grandchild MJ; and another little one on the way. She also leaves to mourn her loss her sister Lena and her special cousin Dodie, as well as family in Manitoba. Cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will take place in Calgary in March 2021 near what would have been Rosemarys 90th birthday. Very Respectfully Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
