Obituary of Dorothy Rysz

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Rysz, resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia, in Chetwynd Hospital on Friday, March 12, 2021, at the age of 76 years. No formal service will be held at this time. She is survived by sons Carl and Scott Graham and John Rysz, daughters Roxanne and Tracy Rysz; her brothers Ken and Rod Edwards and sister Airlie Fowler. She was predeceased by her brother Dennis and son Lawrence. She also has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was originally from Salmon Arm, B.C. She married James Graham in 1960 and they lived mostly in the Southern Interior with a short stint on Vancouver Island. They had three boys together and worked in the cedar shingle industry. Later on, she married John Rysz and took on three more kids. They lived in Revelstoke for a number of years. Dorothy spent much of her later working life as a cook, working on trains and in oil rig camps and lived in Chetwynd, B.C. Dorothy loved the outdoors and loved camping, hunting and fishing. She had large personality and was not afraid to speak her mind as the situation required. Dorothy was a wonderful mother and a great friend.
