Obituary of Loan Duong

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Loan Duong, resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, in Prince George, BC, at the age of 46 years. With respect to COVID restrictions, a private family visitation for Loan was held. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Loan to BC Epilepsy Society, 4180 Lougheed Hwy, Burnaby, BC V5C 4B3 or to Dawson Creek Society for Community Living, 1334 102 Ave, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 2C6 Loan was born June 4th, 1974 in the city of Rach Gia, Vietnam. In February of 1980 at the age of 5 her parents and family immigrated to Dawson Creek, BC. Canada through sponsorship from St. James Presbyterian Church; where she lived up until the time of her passing on April 17th 2021 at the age of 46. Loan faced many challenges in her life, starting at the age of 3 when she was diagnosed with Epilepsy in which caused her to suffer from multiple seizures and injuries for many years. Loan however never allowed it to keep her down. She fought every day to live a normal and happy life as best she could. In May 1997, she was blessed with her son Corwin. Loan was so proud. Over the years, she found a passion for gardening and baking and would share the fruits of her labour with those she loved. Her favourite past-time was planting crab apple trees. The proof of this shows everywhere she lived; they are all marked with Loans green thumb. She had an incredibly loyal and generous nature and would give you the shirt off her back, even if it meant she went without. She always spoiled the younger children by slipping them treats or toys whenever she saw them, paying no mind to whatever the parents might have to say about it. She was fiercely protective and proud of her family. Due to Loans illness, she required a certain amount of care. Through that care, she met many amazing people who became her friends and loved her dearly. She spent time with their families and spoiled their children like her own. Day to day however, you would find her with her uncle Hoa Thai and her dog Teddy Bear. They would cruise the streets, stop for a Timmies or go shopping together. They were her most beloved companions and were truly inseparable. Loan is survived by her parents Thanh Duong and Phan Tran; her son Corwin; brothers Thai (Hong); Vu (Saffron); her sisters Linh (Doug); Thuy (Laine); and Uyen (Carl); as well as her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Loan has many uncles, aunties and friends that loved her with all their heart. Her genuine smile and loyal nature will be missed forever, but we know that she is finally at peace. Rest easy Loan we love you always! A special Thank you to Wendy @ Reynars for all of the help and care throughout this time. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
