Obituary of Alice Maltais

Alice Marina Maltais peacefully passed away at the age of 79 years old in Dawson Creek, BC on May 8th, 2021. Alice Marina Maltais (maiden name Courtoreille) was born to Joseph William Courtoreille and Julienne Letendre on September 8th, 1941, in Loon Lake, Alberta. Alice lost her mother at a very young age leaving her dad to care for and raise her on his own at times with help from Alice's aunties. Alice and her father relocated to Peace River, Alberta where she spent the rest of her childhood and her young adolescence. Alice was a kind, happy and cheerful woman with a great sense of humor, who was always smiling. She was also very objective, reasonable and had very good judgment even when stubbornly defending her own opinions. She was an excellent cook great housewife, a devoted wife and mother. Above all she was the best grandmother ever! Not just to her own grandchildren but to extended family and family friends. Alice had 7 beautiful children: Margaret Ann, Ann, Anthony, Vince, Kevin, Mark and Arnold (Ernie). Alice met the love of her life Frank Whitehead at the age of 16 years old. It wasn't until later in life that Alice and Frank had started to date and over the years their love for each grew strong. Although they had never married, their love for each other lasted for years. Frank and Alice raised their family in Dawson Creek BC where now their sons continue to raise their own families. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service was held, and a livestream of the service can be found on the Reynars website.
