Obituary of Velma Sandboe

Velma Sandboe, longtime resident of LaGlace and recently of Grande Prairie, passed away at the QEII hospital on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the age of 82 years. Velma was born on July 21, 1926 at Hythe, AB. She was the youngest child of George and Kate Johnson. Velma married Glen Sandboe on January 21, 1948. They were camp cooks and farmed in the LaGlace area. She is survived by her husband Glen of 61 years, daughter Sheila (Ken) McQuaig, grandchildren Ken (Donna) McQuaig, Shelly (Kelly) Haire, great grandchildren Katelyn, Kyle, Kendra and Kelsey McQuaig, Lacy and Cody Haire, sister Celia (Olaf) Hagen, brother Marvin (Mabel) Johnson. Velma is predeceased by her parents George and Kate Johnson, brother Charles Johnson, Ory Johnson and Delmer Johnson and sister Beulah Foss. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the LaGlace Bible Fellowship Church, Pastor Nelson Senft officiated. Interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to LaGlace Bible Fellowship Church.
